Wood Floor Installations By
Sound Sand & Finish, LLC

Since we began in 2002, our company has emphasized a quality over quantity approach to performing wood floor installations. We achieve this by strictly adhering to NWFA (National Hardwood Flooring Association) guidelines and implementing their recommended techniques regarding proper fastening procedures and careful observation for specific moisture conditions inherently unique for each of the homes we receive the opportunity to provide our services.

We use pneumatic nailers, coupled with air compressors, which fire 2" cleats with a consistent rate of pressure at a 45 degree angle to thefloor, located just above the tongue on each board (this is referred to as "blind nailing"). In addition, we strictly adhere to a nailing frequency schedule of every 6"-8" per board, with a cleat no more than 2" from every board end.

It is a direct result of these meticulous measures and attention to details we provide, which greatly minimizes the individual movement of boards within the wood floor, and ultimately determine the consistency, longevity and overall structural integrity of our installationservices.

We proudly provide our installation services to Bothell, Bellevue, Brier, Redmond, Kirkland, Kenmore, Everett, North Creek, Mill Creek, Maltby, Monroe, Mukilteo, Mountlake Terrace, and other surrounding cities and neighborhoods.

Hardwood flooring Materials

We exclusively uses hardwood flooring materials that are verified by the F.S.C. (Forest Stewardship Council) as having been harvested from locations deemed sustainable through responsible foresting practices. This certification process provides the reassurance and comfort to our company and customers, in knowing that our projects will not be depleting our planets precious natural resources.

Custom Wood Floor Designs

We truly enjoy working with challenging floor designs as seen in our photos above. We welcome your ideas for intricate patterns or designs you may be thinking about, as we are constantly on the lookout for our next challenge. A wood floor can truly become a work of art. Feel free to send us your best sketch or description of what you'd like to see and allow us the opportunity to bring your creative wood floor vision to life.

Staircase Installations

We also provide quality staircase installations. It's important to note, when changing from carpet to wood, small adjustments need to be made in order to account for the differences in material thicknesses. Consistent rise/run isn't just a silly code, it's a legitimate safety concern. Allow us the opportunity to perform this service correctly and accentuate the home's beauty with wood stairs!
